FDCI’s Amazon India Fashion Week began with a bang yesterday showcasing the latest trends and style for the upcoming summer with designers that showed a rather playful and fun side to their collections.
The quintessential queen of futuristic wears stuck to her guns this season by wowing us with yet another collection that depicted her fresh vision on metallics by using and manipulating zaris, reshams and a lot more in a really unconventional way. Some fresh floral surface textures also made their way into her structurally chic showcase.
Ever since Wendell lent over the creative capabilities of his brand to his prodigy Schulen Fernandes, the label has continually produced their signature silhouettes is fun styles season after season, almost as if Wendell never left. This time we saw a ton of colour blocked details with pleated ruffle necklines in some breathable fabrics that made it perfect for the upcoming summer.
Nida kept the Indian woman in mind while designing her athleisure collection yesterday — think fun prints, sustainable wears and some draped saree joggers — talk about treadmill chic!
With her collection titled ‘jalpari’ Anupama channeled her inner bohemian goddess and gave us a highly coveted collection to look out for. With the use of fishes in her prints, filled with tons of colour and fringe detail — we can definitely see ourselves sporting these dresses in Goa sometime soon!
We fell in love with ivory tones and florals all over again courtesy of Samant Chauhan’s dreamy collection yesterday. Caged bodices, fanciful layers, gowns with trains — everything seemed out of a fairytale for us.
Vallaya’s decadent label turned 25 this year and to celebrate this occasion, his show yesterday celebrated some of his classic styles with usage of Jamavar, nature motifs in some royal silhouettes fit for a queen. The models exuded elegance like no other — a perfect close to the first day of fashion week.
