  1. The Strongest Antioxidant – Turmeric

Did you know that turmeric is in fact 5–8 times stronger than popular antioxidants, such as Vitamins C and E? Turmeric has a special enzyme in it called curcumin, which is packed with anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help in doing away with tan and stubborn brown spots. Just mix half a tablespoon of turmeric and honey with two tablespoons of full-fat yogurt. Apply this mixture all over your face and let it sit for 15 mins or so, before washing it off with lukewarm water.

2. A Superb Exfoliant – Black Pepper

Black peppers are not just used to add spice to your food, but from the beauty perspective, they can also be used as superb exfoliators to banish blackheads, acne and do away with open pores, oil and bacteria build up. Make a paste of two tablespoons of yogurt and two pinches of coarsely powdered black pepper. Gently apply a pea size of this mixture over your acne and dark spots using your fingertips. Wait till the mixture hardens and then wash it off with cold water.

Cookies and hot drink taste delicious with a pinch of heavenly cinnamon; but when added to your skin care routine they can help in replenishing bumpy skin while doing away with blemishes. It also does a superlative job in adding to the moisturization and glow of the skin. Make an anti-microbial mask using three tablespoons of honey, a pinch of cinnamon and a dash of lime. This spice contains eugenol and antiseptic properties, which helps in warding off bacteria, banishing blemish marks and healing skin. For this recipe, just crush a couple of cloves and add a tablespoon of honey and freshly squeezed lime juice to it. Apply this immediately to your face and wash it after 5 mins or so with lukewarm water.

This magic ingredient is an instant pick-me-up ingredient that can work a charm for fresh glow and natural radiance. Ginger has the ability to banish blemishes, lighten age spots and perk up your overall skin tone. For this recipe, just take 5-6 drops of ginger juice and mix it with honey and a dash of lime. Let the mixture coat your entire face. Let it sit there for 20 mins or so, before rinsing it off with lukewarm water for a fresh, even-toned skin.
