3 Foolproof Outfit Ideas So You Can Try The Military Trend STAT_MFG

The military trend has made it to the lookbooks of most designers this season. Be it the military-inspired jacket with sartorial elements like fringes and pompoms, to epaulettes on garments, or just the excess use of army-green, this trend has been incorporated seamlessly in most fall 2016 sartorial creations. And though they say it is quite a difficult look to pull off, I think with some outfit planning and that dash of personal style, you can rock this trend anywhere and everywhere —  the workplace or when you’re going for a casual outing. In case you’re still wondering how to adopt this trend before the year ends, well here’s some good news. I’ve collated three super-chic ensembles that feature military-esque outfits for everyday wear. These sartorial formulas will help you stay military chic in the easiest ways ever. Looking to join the admiral’s style club without sweating it out? Take some help from me (you can thank me later). Read on…

AN ARMY-ESQUE JUMPSUIT

If you thought the jumpsuit has lost its glam quotient, here’s a reminder. This utilitarian outfit is touted as one of Fall 2016s of-the-moment outfit. An army green jumpsuit is your best bet when you’re looking to work this trend through an easygoing ensemble that’s also got an edge to it. Add a pop of colour by teaming it up with a pair of funky neon sneakers. Lug a stylish backpack to keep the look chic yet casual. A smart and sleek watch along with a wrap-around bracelet are all you need to complete this look.

THE MILITARY JACKET

A rather approachable way to incorporate this trend into your ensemble is by working a military-inspired jacket. In case you want that uber-glam look, I suggest a sequin and patch military jacket over a neutral-hued, preferably grey, maxi dress. Opt for a pair of nude ankle-strap stilettos and a crossbody bag. I suggest that you keep the look rather simple. Try not to go overboard with the accessories — just a set of gold-toned rings and a pair of frameless sunglasses are enough.

AN ARMY-INSPIRED ONE SHOULDER TOP

If there’s one celebrity-approved trend this season, it’s got to be the one-shoulder outfit. While it has been a rage on the red carpet, it can obviously also be part of your day-to-day outfits. What I love most about this neckline trend is that it is pretty flattering without excess skin show. In this particular look, I’ve worked an army-inspired one shoulder top that has flared sleeves with a pair of relaxed black culottes. Stick to the sneakers-with-everything trend here as well by adding a pair of black sneakers. A couple of gold cuffs, a studded crossbody bag, and a pair of brow-bar reflector sunglasses are all you need to sort this look out.
